Greg Capullo's Working on a Secret New Project with Scott Snyder after Millar's Reborn

Panels at cons are usually interesting and sometimes they're fun, but Greg Capullo brought an energy to his Q&A at Fan Expo Canada that I've never seen before. I walked into the room knowing that Capullo looked like a biker dude and that his biceps could crush my brain if he flexed (he told a lot of his story on a couple of Kevin Smith's Fatman on Batman podcast and it's obvious that he's not like most artists or writers). What surprised me was the effort he put into engaging with his fans. He spent most of the panel walking up to audience members to hand them the mic and shake their hands.

Early on, Capullo mentions coming back to DC on a new book with Scott Snyder [tentatively titled DC Metal], suggesting that the writer got jealous after seeing pages of Reborn, Capullo's upcoming Image project with Mark Millar, which he describes as "Lord of the Rings/Road Warrior kinda crazy stuff". Look for Reborn #1 on shelves October 12, 2016.

Watch the video to hear what Greg Capullo thinks about the dark places Scott Snyder took their historic Batman run, why he stayed on Spawn for so many years, and what Todd McFarlane told him that keeps him from doing team books again after his old days on X-Force.

Marvel Chief Creative Officer Joe Quesada held a Q&A at Fan Expo Canada

Former Marvel Editor-in-Chief Joe Quesada was recently in Toronto answering audience questions at Fan Expo 2016. Joe had some great stories about saving a bankrupt Marvel by creating Marvel Knights, working on Daredevil with Kevin Smith, and how he went from getting laid off at Valiant to his first job at DC. He couldn't share any upcoming details on the Netflix shows, but he did talk about developing Captain America: Civil War, how he likes to handle character diversity, and the formula for creating the perfect Marvel character as told to him by Stan Lee.

Batman Artist David Finch and Rocket Raccoon and Groot Artist Michael Walsh Sketched She-Hulk at Fan Expo

Superstar Batman artist David Finch joined not quite as famous Rocket Raccoon and Groot artist Michael Walsh for a sketching dual and Q&A at Fan Expo 2016. Instead of drawing "Deadpool having sex with a beer", the audience selected the sensational She-Hulk as the subject. Watch the video to hear about some book recommendations, disturbing commission requests, and how to became better artists. One of the highlights is David Finch's story of getting hired by Top Cow to work for Mark Silvestri.

George Takei Gave a Revealing Q&A at Fan Expo

Just a few days before the 50th anniversary Star Trek, George Takei was in Toronto for Fan Expo Canada where he gave the audience some very thorough and insightful answers about his WWII internment, voice acting in Kubo and the Two Strings, why Sulu used a fencing foil instead of a samurai sword, and lobbying to keep the character straight in Star Trek Beyond.
